Marcos Lopez has just made history in the Champions League. The Peru international made his official debut in the Feyenoord jersey in the victory over Lazio in the third round of the group stage of this competition, becoming the 15th Peruvian to take part in Europe’s most important tournament at club level.
However, his debut was marred by an unusual move in the final minutes of the game. Taty Castellanos received a filtered pass and began to run into the penalty area when the Peruvian came up from behind who, in his attempt to take the ball away from him, ended up pushing him in front of referee Tobias Stieler, who did not hesitate to blow the ball away for a maximum penalty.
This was the penalty taken by Marcos López
