Her performance was so nuanced that she was selected as a featured performer by W magazine.
The blonde beauty from Australia received her own cover, as did other 2023 celebrities including her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling, as well as Natalie Portman and Zac Efron.
In her wide-ranging interview, she talked about starring in a Hooters commercial when she was younger, always crying at The Notebook, and having a crush on Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings.
Her Barbie co-star Gosling also spoke about working on Barbie with Robbie as he revealed that he brought a special prop for one of her scenes.

Her performance was so nuanced that she was selected as a featured performer by W magazine. She also talked about working with Gosling on Barbie. “Ryan always had these tricks up his sleeve, all these things he wanted to do.” He would surprise me with that. The double sunglasses thing [when Ken wears two pairs of sunglasses for “boys night”] was his idea. Seen in July
She began the interview by looking back at the beginning of her career.
“I've done some unpaid commercials – I was in the background of a Hooters commercial,” the “Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood” star noted.
“At the end of the day, the manager from Hooters came and offered me a job. I said, “I think I’ll wish for more.”
She also talked about working with Gosling on Barbie.

“It was just a random shot and it made it into the film.” And screaming “Sublime!” at one point. It was like I always had a front row seat to be entertained.”
And Gosling stars in one of her favorite films.
“I would never cry in The Notebook. It doesn't matter how many times I see it. I'm bawling my eyes out. In fact, I'll stop halfway through, before the sad stuff gets to it. “I’d rather watch the first half 50 times.”
She then called her “movie crush.”
Robbie's Barbie co-star Gosling also spoke about working on Barbie with Robbie as he revealed that he brought a special prop for one of her scenes. His first scene with Robbie was on a boat: “When Barbie and Ken travel to the real world.” “I brought a seagull to set as a prop. I asked someone to puppeteer it in the shot and I didn't tell Margot.
“There have been many, many, many over the years, but the one that comes to mind is Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings, played by Viggo Mortensen.”
And yes, Gosling's name comes up again: “Although one of my favorite Ryan Gosling performances is Young Hercules.” [Laughs]for nostalgic reasons.'
Gosling also got a cover for Barbie.
His first impression of the film: “The front page of the script said “Barbie and Ken,” but “and Ken” was crossed out.
“And the next impression was that this is the most difficult role I will ever play.
“How do you approach the role of a 70-year-old doll with no crotch?” There's no research you can do for this. There is no one to shadow, no documentaries to watch, no books written about Ken. You're on your own.'

Natalie Portman won for “May December,” the drama Portman co-produced and starred in. She plays Elizabeth – a commercially successful but creatively frustrated actress who is stuck in a television trial
“I brought a seagull to the set as a prop. I asked someone to puppeteer it in the shot, but I didn't tell Margot. Ninety percent of the actors I've worked with would leave [very sarcastically]“You brought a seagull with you. Great.” But Margot was open to the seagull puppetry.'

She plays Elizabeth – a commercially successful but creatively frustrated actress stuck in a network process.
Elizabeth decides to tackle an independent film inspired by an infamous tabloid story loosely based on the Mary Kay Letourneau case. To prepare for the role, Elizabeth takes up residence in Gracie's house.
It earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress.
“It was the greatest joy ever to work with someone as brilliant as Jules.” “I was such a big fan that it was very scary but also happy that my character was studying what she was doing,” Natalie said .
“I just wanted to watch what Julie did and emulate it, and I was able to do that.” It was fun to push each other in those scenes where I could do all these nasty things. And as soon as they said “cut,” we were able to laugh together and talk about our kids.'
Zac Efron got his cover for his latest sporting role as real-life pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich in A24's The Iron Claw
She also shared that her first red carpet outfit was a black Betsey Johnson dress that she wore to a bat mitzvah.
“My mom gave me a cow print faux fur jacket to wear over it.” White with black. And I combed my hair back – the wet look. It was very 90s style.
And she said their first kiss was at summer camp, “at a dare.” It was a theater camp, so he came out the next year.'
Zac Efron got his cover for his latest sporting role as real-life pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich in A24's The Iron Claw.
Directed by Sean Durkin and starring Harris Dickinson and Jeremy Allen White, the film tells the remarkable story of the family dynasty known for its signature “Iron Claw” in the ring as well as the tragic “Von Erich Curse.”
Julianne Moore can also be seen in the film May, December, Jodie Foster, Greta, Lee, Nicolas Cage, Colman, Domingo and Robert Downey Jr
“Growing up, I wasn’t allowed to watch wrestling. My parents didn't like it because then my brother and I started wrestling. But we screwed up. “The Iron Claw” is about the Von Erich family. “These guys completely changed the world of wrestling,” Zac said.
And his background as a dancer helped him.
Dancing and wrestling are surprisingly similar. There is a choreographed element to both, and the more you do it, the better you get. Plus just the feeling of moving with a partner: sometimes you lead the other and sometimes you hold them. The learning curve in wrestling is that you just have to get going. With things like climbing up the ropes and jumping off, you just have to put in the effort and go for it. There is no real practice.'
He also shared that he “got pretty beaten up, but you feel like a warrior. It's kind of fun.”
And his cinematic crush was Tia Carrere from Wayne's World. 'I loved her. “She just seemed like a rock star,” he said.
