Maria Beltrão got quite scared at “É de Casa” this Saturday (24). The presenter agreed to take a blood sugar test live on Globo’s morning show and the result had her worried about her risk of developing diabetes. As the Bem Estar committee looked at the disease, how to recognize it and seek treatment, their examination showed a change from what is considered normal. However, the doctor present in the studio explained what would have happened to the journalist’s test.
The test was carried out on all moderators of “É de Casa”. It used a small electronic device that analyzed a drop of blood and, through a small hole in the finger, displayed the amount of sugar in the person’s body. After the test, the veteran was stunned by what she saw. “So what? Wow, guys. I’ve got a problem now,” she snapped worriedly. But the doctor attending the Globo attraction tried to calm Maria down and asked when she was eating.

“Right now,” he confirmed, explaining that he’s been consuming curau, persimmon, and kiwi throughout the program. “So if you eat foods that are very high in carbohydrates, your blood sugar levels can spike. If [a glicose no sangue] If it was above 200 mg/dL, I wouldn’t have particularly good news to tell you. However, since it is 167 mg/dL, it will go down. After two hours it should already be below 140 mg/dL, which is normal,” explains the specialist.
Beltrão pointed out that he carries out his routine checkups frequently, which is why he was shocked by the live result. “It’s the first time that something changes,” he admitted. The normal value for people who are not fasting is up to 140 mg/dL glucose, the results of Rita Batista, Talitha Morete and Thiago Oliveira were lower. For Maria, the test showed 167 mg/dL.
