“I know people often say, ‘Oh, yay! Look at her! She’s so festive and such a Christmas girl,” or whatever. But really, Christmas makes me happy,” Carey told the magazine.
“When you grow up with a messed up life and then you’re able to have that transformation where you can make your life the way you want it? This is joy for me. That’s why I want my children to have everything they can have. I want them to understand that they can be anything they want.”

The singer was in her element as she performed All I Want For Christmas Is You in front of the Manhattan crowds while clad in a red dress and sparkly tiara.
However, the star, who had previously landed in hot water for dodgy facial expressions, was again accused of “blatant lip-synching” after fans noted that her flawless vocals sounded very similar to the 1994 recorded version of the track.
One fan wrote: “Mariah Carey’s lip syncing always SEND me because it’s so obvious. Like she’s not even trying to hide it.”
Another typed: “So @MariahCarey doesn’t sing foreal anymore? Smh’, while a third typed, ‘Wish I could get paid to stand up and look cute with Mariah Carey lip syncing…that chick didn’t sing a single note.’
