Marianne St-Gelais, recently ruled out of Get Me Out of Here!, was not exactly lucky in her adventure as she sustained two injuries.
First there was an accident in the camp. “François Marquis stepped in my hand,” she said.
“The ax we had was too small, so we had to hit the ax handle to cut our wood. The inevitable happened. The tree trunk slipped and hit my hand. We don’t see it, I leave the screen and let the doctor treat me. I was lucky it didn’t cut anything. I had a bandage on my left hand for several shows. People didn’t notice, but as of episode 3 I have a bandage. »
Then she was bitten by an insect. “We didn’t see it because it happened while we were walking to the Jungle Gala grounds. At first we were scared because we didn’t know what it was. It was extremely dark, so we couldn’t see the little bug in question. After studying the path taken, we finally came to the conclusion that the only thing that could have bitten me was a caterpillar with spikes on its back. »
She adds: “I felt like I had spilled the oil from my lamp on my calf. It was so hot it burned. I told our nanny I just burned myself but he couldn’t see anything. He was scared, he was thinking about scorpions, something more intense. […] Eventually, small dots that looked like the caterpillar’s spines appeared on my calf, so we concluded it was her fault. »
This is reminiscent of Justine’s impressive injury at Survivor Quebec.
