The meeting of the doppelganger Marília Mendonça with the singer’s son triggers criticism on the Internet
A meeting between a lookalike of Marília Mendonça and the singer’s son, Léo, aged 2 years and 7 months, sparked a series of criticisms on the internet. Marília died in a plane crash in November 2021 at the age of 26. According to the public, the boy may be confused at the sight of the doppelganger and miss his mother.
“It’s just NOT POSSIBLE that anyone would think this was a good idea,” commented one netizen.
The meeting took place on Saturday (22) during a sports event at the Arena Todos os Cantos in Goiânia. Marília’s mother, Dona Ruth, has shared photos with Leo, her daughter’s fans and family on social media. In the video, which has been circulating on social media, Leo sits on his maternal grandmother’s lap and looks suspiciously at his mother’s doppelganger (pictured above).
Dona Ruth explained to g1 that it was an open event and that the young woman in the photo had traveled hours to meet her. “From afar she might have looked like his mother, but she wasn’t who he knew,” he said.
The video has already more than 7 million views on Twitter and more than 7,000 comments. “I think, you [ Dona Ruth ] She was just being polite, the girl probably came like so many other people to take a picture. “Nobody suffers or has suffered more than Marília’s mother,” said another netizen.

In addition to the unusual meeting, Saturday (22) was Marília’s birthday, who would have been 28 years old. The singer’s team published her official profile with more than 41 million followers, a video with a tribute to the date.
“Happy birthday, Queen Marília Dias Mendonça,” read the publication.
In the video, which recaps moments from the singer’s childhood to her last recorded album, an excerpt emphasizes that Marília is “a queen who enchants people with her manner and her voice, and that the lyrics were not written in the past because she makes herself present in the present”.
