A Marine is accused of fatally stabbing his 27-year-old pregnant wife at the side of a busy freeway in Honolulu, Hawaii, when passing witnesses saw the horrific attack and tried to intervene, police said.
Dana Alotaibi, who was 13 weeks pregnant, died from multiple stab wounds to her neck. The suspect’s name was not released, but in a statement to KITV4, Marine Corps Base Hawaii said he was a Marine on the 3rd Littoral Combat Team.
During Thursday’s heinous attack, “witnesses observed a man standing over a woman and stabbing her multiple times,” Deena Thoemmes, lieutenant with the Honolulu Criminal Investigation Department’s Homicide Division, said at a news conference.
