US Navy veteran who was once shot in the head heads to the Super Bowl after a social media star gave him two free tickets… and Patrick Mahomes agrees to the heartwarming gesture

Patrick Mahomes has put his stamp of approval on viral footage of a social media star giving away Super Bowl tickets to a US veteran who was once shot in the head just a day before the big game in Glendale, Arizona.

In the video, Zach Dereniowski approached a 62-year-old Navy veteran who goes by the name “Warren” in a parking lot near a grocery store 24 hours before Saturday’s game to discuss his plans for Super Bowl LVII.

Warren reveals he’s been a lifelong football fan and tells Zach that he wishes he had enough money to go to Sunday’s big game at State Farm Stadium.

At this point, Zach thanked Warren for his 21 years of service by surprising him with free tickets to the Kansas City Chief vs. Philadelphia Eagles game.

And the Navy veteran couldn’t believe it himself.

“Oh my god,” Warren said, before yelling, “I’m going to the game! Oh dear God!! Oh man!! I cry!’

Zach also provided Warren with $1,000 in cash to allow him to enjoy himself at America’s greatest sporting event. However, Warren had other ideas about what he would do with that money.

“I’ll keep 200,” the vet said, adding, “And the rest goes to my mom, man.”

The video then shows Warren wearing a Mahomes jersey while among the other 67,826 football fans who watched the Chiefs quarterback in action at home of the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona.

At one point, the Navy veteran can be heard saying that he will “never, never, never, EVER forget” the experience of seeing a Super Bowl game in person.

And after the Chiefs’ thrilling 38-35 win, Mahomes himself, now a two-time Super Bowl champion, shared Zach’s video with his followers on Twitter.

“That’s what this is about, man!” commented the 27-year-old.

He also shared a family snap at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, where he and his wife showed their newborn son’s face for the first time since he was born in November.

Zach is now an Instagram celebrity who has more than 2.7 million followers on the social media platform.

As a former medical student at the University of Sydney, his message is to “spread kindness” and surprise people with random acts.
