Mario Casillas did not give Marysol Sosa 4 million pesos; assured that it was a "Mistake" and apologizes

  • Faced with Mario Casillas’ sensitive words, he went to the media to clarify that everything was a mess.

  • Minutes earlier, the person who served as José José’s deputy denied what the former ANDI President had said.

As if the controversy over the estrangement between her brother José Joel and mother Anel Noreña wasn’t enough, Marysol Sosa was the talk of the afternoon on February 16 after allegedly collecting 4 million pesos in royalties from José José, according to a past president of the National Association of Interpreters (ANDI).

The originator of the charge was Mario Casillas, who headed the above-mentioned body between 2011 and 2019. The interview with the statements appeared on Jorge Zamitiz’s YouTube channel.

After important statements, the press responded to her words and the singer was singled out, for which she immediately went out to withdraw her statement.

Mario Casillas retires

“No, notice I made a mistake, I was talking about something else, I don’t know what happened to me, but I sincerely apologize to Marysol … ANDI has never given anyone a check for 4 million Gave pesos not even I gave Marysol a check not at all when I said it I was wrong because I was talking about another thing something else and my wires crossed and I messed up”

Immediately afterwards, the interpreter emphasized his mistake and again asked for mercy from the daughter of José José and Anel Noreña. “So if you do me a favor by apologizing to Marysol, I ask for an apology, just so you can say it in your program, and I’ll tell Marysol to apologize if I cause you any trouble,” he explained.

Finally, Mario Casillas explained how the association, which he then headed, can pay out the money from the royalties if the artist belonging to the institution dies.

This is how he described the legacy of José José.

“A notarized will is always preferable to any letter of appointment, that is official and if a notary does it it will be respected, if there is no notarized will ANDI will give the partners the amount of royalties that the partner left in their letter of appointment ‘ he explained.

It is worth remembering that Anel Noreña, the singer’s ex-wife, was designated as the sole heir to the Prince of Song after their children, José Joel and Marysol, signed the documents refusing the inheritance left by their father.

Former assistant to José José clear if Marysol Sosa received the royalties

Minutes before Mario Casillas came out to apologize, Gustavo Adolfo Infante contacted Laura Núñez. The woman mentioned that after the death of The Prince of Song, Mario Casillas was no longer president of ANDI, so he wasn’t even involved in the distribution of royalties.

Likewise, whoever was friends with the late Mexican singer made it clear that Marysol Sosa hadn’t stolen anything or received a stratospheric amount of money.

“This money or this stratospheric amount was never raised. No, José didn’t generate it in such a short time. Yes, money was raised and it was the (José José’s children), each at their different stage,” said Laura Núñez.

According to him, the two children that José José had with Anel Noreña received money because their father left them as beneficiaries. However, he ruled out that they received millions.

“Yes, there was a payment, but not four million. Also, Mr. Casillas is a bit distracted about the dates because he was no longer President of ANDI (when the royalties were distributed). He couldn’t have paid anyone a single peso,” stressed the woman in De Primera Mano.

“Mrs. Anel goes with her heir-holder and collects her percentage that corresponds to her. The guys (Marysol and José Joel) did it a little earlier,” he said.

Finally, Laura Núñez denied that the distribution of José José’s royalties had led to the distancing of Marysol Sosa, Anel Noreña and José Joel: “That was not the reason for the distancing, since each went to collect what corresponded to him, as treated by the ANDI statutes”.
