Peruvian-Spanish writer Mario Vargas Llosa, 87, has been hospitalized with Covid-19 since last Saturday. This is the second time the author has been hospitalized with this disease. Her children reported this in a Twitter message on Monday.
The brief statement signed by Álvaro, Gonzalo and Morgana Vargas Llosa confirmed that the Nobel Prize in Literature (2010) “He has been in hospital since Saturday after being diagnosed with Covid-19.although they do not indicate the city in which it is located and affirmed that they would publish it “in view of media interest in the author’s state of health”.
The veteran writer was in Peru a few weeks ago to take part in private activities when he was joined by his children and ex-wife Patricia Llosa. However, Vargas Llosa usually lives in Madrid where he spends long periods of time.
