Marisa Monte seduces the audience with hits and offers a spectacular show at Primavera Splash

The strongest connection to the audience was created with the hits, which are already MPB classics. Already with the first chords, songs like “Still Remember”, “Beija Eu” and even more subdued songs like “Vilarejo” and “Infinito Particular” trigger hysterical screams from the fans.

As the performance began, the sun set, increasing the lights on the stage. A delicate and beautiful framework has been created for a show that has no visual resource more daring than the projections on the screen. The focus is on the singer’s proud figure, her flawless voice and the broad gesture of her arms.

The sixth song of the setlist, “Still good,” received the first, longest ovation from the audience, followed by “Beija Eu.” In fact, it was the audience’s sustained applause that led to longer gaps between some songs. Marisa played shorter versions than the original studio recordings and often changed songs quickly. Probably a way to include so many good things in the festival program in the shortened time.

But Marisa had time to introduce her allstar band: Dadi on bass, Pupilo on drums, Davi Moraes on guitar, Pretinho da Serrinha on cavaco and percussion, and Chico Brown on multiple instruments as well as a powerful brass section. Marisa and Pretinho gave the audience probably the only samba moment in Primavera, with ten fantastic minutes linking “Elegante Amanhecer” and “Lenda das Sereias, Rainha do Mar”.

Finally, a breathtaking sequence: “Amor, I Love You”, one of his most acclaimed songs by fans, followed by the presence of Roberto de Carvalho on guitar for the covers of “Doce Vampiro” and “Mania de Você”. Honor Rita Lee and finally “Já Sei Namorar”, the most symbolic tribal song. Afterwards, the diva left the stage with another completely seduced audience.
