Mariska Hargitay shares a touching tribute to her late Law and Order: SVU partner Ned Eisenberg

Mariska Harghitai paid tribute to her late partner Ned Eisenberg on her Instagram account on Wednesday.

The 58-year-old actress wrote a message about the loss of her late teammate Law & Order: SVU and praised his friendly personality and professionalism as a performer.

The late actor died last Sunday at his home in New York at the age of 65 after battling cancer.

“My heart is so full of sorrow for the loss of our dear, dear Ned Eisenberg,” Hargitay began.

The actress then noted that the late performer decorated the lives of the people around him both on and off the set.

“What light and what love. And such a first-class actor who pales next to him as a first-class person. We will always remember him with his bright, naughty smile and wide open heart, “she wrote.

Hargitheus then concluded his message by writing, “We love you and we miss you, dear Ned.”

The Mare of Easttown star has been battling cholangiocarcinoma and ocular melanoma in private for the past two years, and his wife confirmed the news in a statement to TMZ last Monday.

“As Ned would say, he was attacked by two very rare killers – cholangiocarcinoma and ocular melanoma,” said his wife Patricia.

“For two years, he bravely fought cancer in private while continuing to work in show business to ensure that his medical coverage paid for himself and his family.”

His representative Jeremy Leiner of Nicolosi & Co. announced that he had confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that he had died last Sunday at his home in New York.

The character actor survived by his wife Patricia and his son Lino.

Eisenberg was born in New York and attended the famous Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts and Performing Arts in Manhattan, where he studied acting.

Eisenberg also starred as Lou Rabinowitz in Amazon’s hit show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

His other recent TV credits include Black List, Elementary, Bull, Madam Secretary and The Good Wife.

Many viewers will remember him best from the Law and Order series, including Law and Order: Criminal Intent and Law and Order: Special Victims.

His first film role came in 1980, when he appeared in the action movie “Fighter”.

He will continue to appear frequently on the big screen, including roles in Clint Eastwood’s “Baby for a Million Dollars” (2004) and “Our Fathers’ Flags” (2006).

Other film credits include The Burning (1981), Moving Violations (1985), Roger Spotyswood’s Air America (1990), Walter Hill’s Last Man Standing (1996), Mike Nichols’ Primary Colors (1998), Steven Zaillian’s A Civil Action 1998), Oliver Stone World Trade Center (2006), Limitless (2011), Will Not Give Up (2012), Experimenter (2015) and Asher (2018).
