Maritime rescue personnel are searching for a 15-year-old boy missing in the waters of Murcia's Mar Menor after the boat he was traveling in with two other rescued people capsized early Friday. At 2:34 p.m., 112 received a call from a Los Alcázares resident who was in the port area and said he heard cries for help from the Mar Menor.

A local police patrol was on site, which in turn mobilized a rescue boat from the municipal civil protection service and another from the Los Alcázares nautical club. At 3:25 p.m., two young people, aged 16 and 22, were located, evacuated to the port and treated by health services as they suffered from severe hypothermia.
Those rescued reported that a third person, a 15-year-old boy, was with them when the boat capsized, which is why the Murcia Region Emergency Coordination Center and the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center deployed a rescue device. Searches on land, at sea and in the air, involving patrols from local police, Civil Guard, Red Cross and civil protection vessels, as well as sea rescue helicopters. The boat they were traveling on has already been located and towed to the port of Los Alcázares.
