Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was arrested at the house late Friday while holding her cellphone with former President Donald Trump on the line.

After the 14th House Republican vote to elect GOP leader Kevin McCarthy as speaker failed, Greene tried to get Rep. Matt Rosendale to speak with the former president.

“It was the perfect call,” Greene tweeted, sharing a photo to Bloomberg of the moment Trump’s initials “DT” were prominently displayed on her iPhone screen.

Rosendale, a Republican from Montana, had screamed the name of Rep. Andy Biggs during the 14th ballot.

On the 15th, Rosendale screamed “present” — after McCarthy garnered enough votes to finally win speakership.

In the 14th round, he was just one of four Republicans to call names other than McCarthy.

The two most prominent “Never Kevin” Republicans, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Rep. Lauren Boebert, had voted “present,” but it wasn’t enough to get McCarthy over the line.

Republicans initially tried to pause until Monday — but halfway through voting, McCarthy rushed to the podium and encouraged other Republicans to do the same and change their votes, as it looks like a 15th try could be a success.

Trump called his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the “perfect phone call,” a conversation that would see him face impeachment for the first time.

He withheld funding approved by Congress to pressure Zelensky to announce investigations into Joe and Hunter Biden.

Trump now sees President Joe Biden as his biggest threat in the 2020 election.

Looking ahead to 2024, Trump has already announced a presidential bid, but for several days his encouragement to support McCarthy House Republicans was ignored.

It took until Friday – and McCarthy made a series of concessions to the Conservatives – for the final votes he needed to make his way.

“BIG NIGHT FOR AMERICA!” Trump wrote on Truth Social around 7 p.m., teasing McCarthy’s eventual win.

He was elected speaker at 12:30 a.m. Saturday after two rounds of late-night voting.

“The selection process for ‘spokespersons’, as crazy as it may seem, has made everything much bigger and more important than if it were done the more conventional way. Congratulations to Kevin McCarthy and our BIG Republican Party!’ Trump posted to Truth Social after the polls were completed.
