Mark Cuban is reportedly planning to leave “Shark Tank” after more than a decade on the ABC show.

“I just want to spend a few summers with my teenagers before they go off on their own,” Cuban said in a statement to on Monday. “It has nothing to do with the show. I love it. I love being there. I love what it represents and how it motivates entrepreneurs around the world.”

According to THR, the Dallas Mavericks owner plans to leave the Emmy-winning series after filming next season. ABC has not yet announced a 16th season.

Season 15 premiered in September with returning Sharks Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O’Leary.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Cuban and the show for comment.

The news comes nearly a week after Cuban told All the Smoke podcast hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson that season 16 would be his last.

“This is our 15th year. Next year… will be my last year, so one more year,” he said. “It is time. But I love (“Shark Tank”) because it conveys the message that the American dream is alive and well.”

As to whether he has profited from his “Shark Tank” investments, Cuban said: “I’ve invested (in I don’t know how many hundreds of companies). On a cash basis, I’m a little in the red, but.” In terms of mark-to-market meaning, the companies are still operating. I’m way up there.”

Mark Cuban has said his fellow Sharks stars will “survive just fine without me.”

The business mogul has already mused about leaving the show, including in a 2022 profile for Forbes’ 400 Richest People in America issue.

“Part of me wants to quit,” he told Forbes, adding that his fellow Sharks “will survive just fine without me.”

A month later, he clarified on the People Every Day podcast that while he was “determined” to come back for season 15, “I don’t know after that.”

According to IMDb, Cuban has appeared in every season since his guest role in the second season, which aired in 2011.
