Mark Stone is a bitter man

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone clearly didn’t like being checked by Los Angeles Kings forward Hayden Hodgson.

On Wednesday evening, the 27-year-old striker pinched the veteran violently but legally during a preparatory duel deep in his zone. The coup led to several skirmishes.

“This is probably the last time I played against this guy,” said a bitter Stone, whose comments were reported by the FOX 5 Vegas network.

“He’s not a big player, so I’ll just say that.”

Hodgson has seven games of experience in the National Hockey League (NHL), playing for the Philadelphia Flyers organization in recent years. Since making the jump to the pros, he has primarily played in the ECHL.

The Ontario native joined the Kings last June in a trade for defenseman Ivan Provorov. He is currently trying to win his place in the Californian club’s lineup.
