The actor expressed his appreciation for Samuel’s “trying to hold on and express masculinity” and said he will pray for the late social media star’s family.
The death of Kevin Samuels has caused a huge rift on social media, but regardless of his controversial attitudes, the self-proclaimed “image consultant” had a crowd of followers who loved his content. Samuels made several statements, which often went viral, about relationships, “quality men,” and what women needed to do to increase their chances of finding love.
Ever since it was confirmed that Samuels did in fact die at his home with a woman, identified only as a nurse, whom he met at a nightclub the night before, there has been an ongoing debate about his legacy.
Several celebrities have come forward to offer their condolences, including Marlon Wayans, who wondered why people who didn’t like Samuels would “tune in” to see his content.
“Love him or hate him… he spoke his truth,” Wayans said. “We can take the truth as hate, but sometimes his bold medicine didn’t taste so sweet. And if you hated it, why tune in? Why call? Because healing comes in many forms…it was a disgustingly ass-tasting medicine. There’s no right and wrong in this love shit, there’s only discovery. Thank you for those you healed and we forgive you if there was any harm because we know your intent was to heal… and frankly F*CK YOU WERE CAUSES!”
