Martin Lawrence shares Jamie Foxx ‘is doing better’ after medical complications

(CNN) Jamie Foxx is making progress, according to his friend Martin Lawrence.

Foxx has been hospitalized in Georgia since April 11 after suffering a “medical complication,” his daughter Corrine Foxx said in a social media post last week.

She didn’t explain what happened, but added that her father was “on the road to recovery.”

Lawrence received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for telling Extra that Foxx was “doing better.”

“I pray for him every night and wish him nothing but the best, one of the best we’ve had in Hollywood,” Lawrence said. “Not just one of the best entertainers, but a good person.”

Lawrence was joined by Steve Harvey, Tracy Morgan and Lynn Whitfield at Thursday’s Walk of Fame ceremony. The Bad Boys star said he was “really honored” to receive the recognition.

“I feel so blessed and thank God for this honor and just recognition and my fans and it’s something I’ve always wanted. Richard Pryor was my first exposure to wanting to be in business, and I wanted to do that,” Lawrence said. “He inspired me, him and Eddie Murphy. Just following what they’ve done in their career has allowed me to advance in mine, so I’m very grateful and appreciative.”

CNN has reached out to Foxx officials for comment.
