Since the end of the morning of this Sunday, August 14, 2022, Météo France has been reporting stormy rains mainly affecting the North Atlantic. It is “a mass of moist and unstable air with weak trade winds” that favors these stationary stormy developments near the relief. The end of this episode is scheduled for the evening.

These stormy rains should “continue for the next few hours, especially in the sector of the North Atlantic already affected and on the relief,” announces Météo France.
Precipitation accumulations in this area can reach 50 to 80 mm in 3 hours. The episode is scheduled to end tonight. Between 12.00 and 13.00 there are cumulative rains in 1 hour of 15 to 40 mm over the North Atlantic, with notably 39.2 mm recorded in Sainte-Marie and 42.3 mm in Lorraine.
Caution is advised
Authorities, as usual, advise caution if you must practice risky sports outdoors or if you or your activities are in an exposed area, on land or at sea.
In the event of a storm, “avoid using phones and electrical devices and be very careful near watercourses. Fords can quickly become very dangerous”.
