According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Entertainment has signed a deal with Stan Lee universeparent company of Genius Brands International and POW! entertainmentto license the legendary publisher’s name and image for use in future projects, including films, series, Disney theme parks and various merchandising experiences..
The contract term is twenty years.
”This really ensures that through digital technology and archival footage and otherwise, Stan will live in the most important place, the Marvel movies and Disney theme parks. It’s a broad agreement.”

Stan Lee was the screenwriter and editorinchief of Marvel Comics in the 1960s along with artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko he created some of the superheroes that today form the basis of the industry’s biggest blockbusters and the interconnected narrative universe popular across various media.
In addition, he has also become the eversmiling public face of the company, an imposing position he has held for decades.
Lee has returned to the pop culture limelight in the 21st century largely due to his appearances in films, initially in adaptations based on the publisher’s comics such as B. “XMen” by FOX and ‘SpiderMan’ from Sony Pictures, then with the growing hit list from Marvel Studios.

Anyhow, the site states that this deal doesn’t necessarily pave the way for Lee to appear in future projects, at least not in the way fans have been accustomed to.
It’s unclear if there’s any interest in replicating it digitally, much like how it was done Peter Cushing in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”.
