The Hawkeye actor was flown to hospital with “serious injuries” on Sunday morning after he was run over by the snow groomer he was using to plow his driveway.
Renner, a two-time Oscar nominee, was alone trying to clear a way out of his Lake Tahoe home in his PistenBully, a type of snow groomer made by German manufacturer Kassbohrer.
The vehicle’s safety features failed, causing it to roll over Renner’s leg about a quarter-mile from the property, TMZ reported.

A neighbor who also happened to be a doctor placed a tourniquet on his injured leg to stop the bleeding, but Renner suffered significant blood loss when he was airlifted from the snowy scene at 9.50am.
The 51-year-old is in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
TMZ cites sources close to the star as saying he sustained injuries to other parts of his body and not just his leg.
It is unclear how long he has owned the PistenBully or whether he bought it used.
