Massa is ahead with 30.7% of disputed votes in Argentina

Within the margin of error, the Minister of Economy is on par with Javier Milei, who has 27.9% of voting intentions

In terms of numbers, Economy Minister Sergio Massa (Unión por la Patria) is ahead in the dispute over the presidency of Argentina 30.7% of voting intentions in the 1st round, according to a study by Atlas Intel and published by the newspaper Perfil on Friday (September 29, 2023). He is President Alberto Fernández’s candidate.

The candidate of La Libertad Avanza and winner of the country’s primaries, Javier Milei, is in second place in the election campaign 27.9% of votes. The two are tied within the margin of error. The first round of Argentine elections will take place on October 22nd.

As part of the survey, 3,778 people were interviewed online from September 20th to 10th, 2023. The margin of error is 2 pp (percentage points) in a 95% confidence interval.

The centerright candidate for Juntos por el Cambio, Patricia Bullrich, has 27.7% of voting intentions. Juan Schiaretti (Hacemos por Nuestro País) and Myriam Bregman (Frente de Izquierda) have respectively 4.8% It is 2.1% of votes. Another 3.8% said they didn’t know, 1.8% were white and 1.4% didn’t have the right to vote.

BULLRICH TAKES ADVANTAGE IN THE 2ND ROUND

In a scenario against the current Economy Minister, 44.9% would vote for Bullrich, while 34.9% would vote for Massa. The sum of undecided, empty and zero is 20.2%. Against Milei, the Juntos por el Cambio candidate has 36.8% of voting intentions, while the rightwing candidate has 31.5%. Another 31.7% answered they didn’t know, blank or zero.

Research from Atlas Intel also suggests that Javier Milei would beat Sergio Massa in a possible second round. According to the survey, in this scenario the winner of the country’s primaries has 43.5% of voting intentions, compared to 37.5% for the current Argentine presidential candidate. White, null and undecided voters make up 19%.
