Massive Attack guitarist dies

Flagship British trip-hop group Massive Attack announced on Tuesday the death of their guitarist Angelo Bruschini from lung cancer.

“Rest in peace, Angelo. “A uniquely brilliant and original talent,” wrote Massive Attack on his X account (ex-Twitter), deeming it “impossible to quantify his contribution to the group from Bristol, England.”

On their Instagram account, the group added that they were “devastated” by the disappearance of their guitarist.

Massive Attack formed in the 1980s and rose to fame in the 1990s with their album Mezzanine and then 100th Windows.

After playing in several groups, Angelo Bruschini joined the group in 1990 and helped shape the musical identity of the Bristol band.

Last July, Angelo Bruschini announced on his Facebook account that he was suffering from lung cancer and reported a deterioration in his health.

“I have had a great life, traveled around the world many times, met many great people, but the door is closing,” he wrote.
