MasterChef Australia contestant Theo Loizou has revealed his dramatic change.

The 37-year-old electrician was overweight in his early twenties but has managed to lose almost 50kg through a healthy lifestyle.

He said his diet at the time consisted of “whatever I wanted” and that a serious back injury prevented him from playing sports.

He explained that a sobering visit to the department store’s menswear department made him realize his weight was out of control and that he needed to do something about it.

“I’ve lost 100 pounds and kept it off since I was about 23,” he told Woman’s Day.

“I remember going into a store to buy a t-shirt and the XXL was skin tight. ‘I didn’t know I had grown that big.’

The reality star said he then made a commitment to eating healthy and exercising regularly, walking and boxing to get back in shape.

“It’s something you have to do for the rest of your life, so it better be something you love,” he added.
