Julie Goodwin was eliminated for the first time ever in the MasterChef competition on Tuesday night’s episode.

The star chef, 51, was sent home after she burned all the bases of her pies during the challenge – she lost to Sarah Todd.

Twitter erupted in praise for the beloved food star, and viewers were saddened to see her exit the competition.

“We have National Treasures and now we have Master Chef Treasures – the first person to bestow that title – Julie Goodwin. I’m so glad you came back. walk well You are such a sweetheart,” wrote one fan.

“Julie you will always be the OG,” added another.

Affection for the star certainly ran high, with others adding: “I want to say Julie is a remarkable human being. She is the best of us.”

Julie had an emotional farewell after being served a gooey date pudding.

“Gooey date pudding, ice cream and a whiskey caramel to die for. It looked like a million bucks on that plate, and more than that, you absolutely smashed the job,” Jock said.

However, it was the burnt cake bases that sent the previous winner home.

“The bottom of all our cakes was burned. Which left a bitter burnt taste in our mouths,’ said Jock.

Julie concluded by saying she was finally at peace with the idea that her first win wasn’t a mistake.
