“The new judges don’t worry too much about what the food looks like,” Billie explained.
“But I felt like the other judges really appreciated a very nice looking plate of food. So I kind of had to undo that in my head and realize I didn’t have to make it look really good, I had to make it taste really good.
She continued, “I think that was a pretty big lesson to learn.”

Billie emerged victorious, taking down the $250,000 prize after a stunning final dish during Tuesday night’s MasterChef Australia finals.
The franchise veterans were tasked with recreating an elaborate dessert made famous by guest judge Heston Blumenthal.
The judges were most impressed with Billie, whose dish they called “better than good” and “amazing.”
She scored nine out of ten from every judge except Melissa Leong who gave her a perfect score of 10.

‘Oh dear God. I can not believe it. I’m so thankful for this experience,” Billie said after her win.
“I’ve learned so much about myself. It changed a lot about me and I’m really excited about it. And I admire Sarah so much.
“She is an absolute force. She has done so much since she first came to MasterChef and I am truly inspired by her. She is also a beautiful person.
Sarah didn’t go home empty-handed, winning $30,000 for second place.
