AUGUSTA, Georgia — The 2022 Masters was a whirlwind with literally picking up winds on Friday and plummeting temperatures on Saturday to keep some of the world’s best golfers off their game. These conditions are struggling for the two men who have played the best golf so far on the PGA Tour this season.

Scottie Scheffler is the 54-hole leader, three shots clear of Cameron Smith ahead of Sunday’s finals at Augusta National. Although Scheffler posted a 71 on Saturday, Smith tore up the rankings with a 68 for the day’s round. In doing so, he nearly halved Scheffler’s lead and created a two-man showdown at the top of the leaderboard for the Green Jacket.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods went in the completely opposite direction. Woods scored his worst round of his career as a professional or amateur at Augusta. His 6-over-78 featured two double bogeys and, as Woods put it, “thousands” of putts. It’s clear Tiger’s ailing right leg is bothering him after battling through the first two rounds to make his 22nd straight cut at the Masters. Sunday is all about protecting his body and trying to end the tournament on a positive note.

Here’s a look at all the pairings set to play at Sunday’s 86h Masters. As a reminder, 26 of the last 31 Masters winners came from Sunday’s final pairing. The only man who has bucked this trend lately is Danny Willett, who is in 8th place but nine strokes behind Scheffler, who goes into round 4.
