Mathieu Dandenault’s former home is for sale – Le Journal de Québec

Hundreds of properties in Quebec change hands every day, most of them without us knowing the exact details. That was before we became interested… Here are the latest transactions that caught our attention.

The former residence of former Red Wings and Canadiens hockey player Mathieu Dandenault has just been put back on the market. The owner of the property, a magnificent estate on the edge of Lac Beauport, is hoping to raise $5.9 million from future buyers.

Built in 1982, 6 chemin de l’Ancêtre sits on a 45,251 ft2 lot with 150 feet of land on the edge of Lake Beauport. The two-story house with around 2,000 square meters of living space has 15 rooms, including four bedrooms, two kitchens, two bathrooms and a guest toilet.

This residence was sold in the spring of 2014 by Mr. Dandenault and his ex-wife Marie-Christine Lavoie for $1.5 million. Nine years later, its owner Jean-Guy Dumas put it up for sale for $5.9 million, almost four times the price paid.
