Matthew Lawrence has responded to his estranged wife Cheryl Burke’s divorce filing.
The 42-year-old Boy Meets World graduate, in legal documents obtained by Page Six, demanded that the court not grant spousal support to himself or the Dancing With the Stars pro, 37.
Lawrence also requested that the court uphold the estranged couple’s marriage contract, which will decide how their estate will be divided. They signed the prenuptial agreement shortly before their wedding in May 2019.
Like Burke, the actor cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
The dancer filed for divorce from Lawrence in February after nearly three years of marriage. She gave January 7, 2022 as the date of separation.

Shortly thereafter, Burke visited her wedding venue, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego, California, to reflect on her decision.
The former Dance Moms coach also took to social media to address the news.
“I know I have always said that I am an open book with you, I strive to be, and as I write this I have realized that there is no easy way to announce the end of my marriage” said she wrote.

Burke stated that she would not “comment further” on the divorce, but thanked her fans for their “kind words and support.”
The couple met through Lawrence’s brother, Joey Lawrence, when the “Melissa & Joey” grad was running for office on Season 3 of “DWTS.” They dated for a year in 2007 before splitting but got back together in 2017.
Matthew popped the question in May 2018, and the two married a year later.
