Days after Paramount Media Networks boss Chris McCarthy confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that McConaughey would star in a “Yellowstone” spin-off, a podcast conversation gave us a glimpse of what McConaughey currently thinking about his career.

Dax Shepard spoke to the Oscar winner about a new episode of “Armchair Expert” and asked him about his career after writing his memoir over the past few years.

“Now I’m interested in playing a different character on a television show because the last four years have been about peaking, writing, putting all those things together and getting more involved in public service,” McConaughey explained . “The idea of ​​acting in roles like this, in the right movie or series at any given moment, sounds like an incredible vacation.”

“After these last three years, I will be a different or better actor,” said the Dallas Buyers Club star, adding that his decision to retire from acting and focus on other projects has not been “in vain.” has been. “.

After Kevin Costner left Yellowstone, McConaughey was back in the spotlight when it was reported he might join the series.

McCarthy recently told THR in his interview that they have plans to proceed with the McConaughey-led spin-off regardless of how Costner’s role on Yellowstone develops.
