Matthew McConaughey became emotional while discussing his family at a live talk event in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The 53-year-old actor revealed that he and his wife Camila Alves have not been apart for more than nine days throughout their marriage since their wedding in 2012.
While he spoke to Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt about his first children’s picture book, “Just Because,” he also delved into his successful career and family life.
The Interstellar star – who was stunned when he first inspected his “gorgeous” wax figure from Madame Tussauds in New York City – also said he hoped her three children would call him their “best friend” when they would get older.
McConaughey and the Brazilian model, 41, are parents to Levi, 15, Vida, 13, and Livingston, 10.

During the hour-long interview, he wore casual clothes and gushed about the family he shares with his wife.
The beginning of the couple’s love story began when they met at a nightclub in West Hollywood in 2006.
The Oscar winner told People in 2018, before revealing that before he met her, he wasn’t sure if he would ever find “unconditional love.”
“I mean, the clock was ticking,” he recalled. “I was almost 40 and my plan was to be married and have children by that age.”
“But I didn’t want to play the game where I get scared because if you’re too scared you won’t find a partner,” he continued. “And then you make a hasty decision.”
“I knew men who had made rash decisions and women who had done the same. But at that point I wasn’t hunting,” he added.
“And then this amazing woman walked across my field of vision and I thought, ‘Who is that?’ And it was Camila.”
“We have a love that we never question,” he said.

“My youngest still lets me know what he likes,” he continued. “He’ll sit back a bit and let me know later.”
