Matthew Perry’s Passing Overlooked at the BAFTA Awards

The absence of the star of the sitcom Friends Matthew Perry was noticed during a tribute to the late man at the BAFTA Awards, the UK's equivalent of the Oscars, on Sunday.

During the awards ceremony, Hannah Waddingham performed a very sober and beautiful version of Cindi Lauper's hit play Time After Time, while portraits of the great people who died last year were shown.

The deaths of Alan Arkin, Jane Birkin, Harry Belafonte, Sir Michael Gambon, Ryan O'Neal, Tina Turner, Tom Wilkinson and Carl Weathers, among others, were highlighted, but many noted that Matthew Perry had been snubbed during those four minutes of tribute .

A BAFTA Awards organizer said, according to the Chron: “We confirm he will be honored at our next BAFTA Television Awards in May, as well as in the commemorative section of our website.”
