The imposing Monumental de Maturín Stadium is ready to host the Vinotinto Games! The Venezuelan team is about to make its debut at the 2026 South American Qualifiers and has its counterpart from Paraguay as its rival on the second date, where it will play at home.
The new thing is that the team led by Argentinian Fernando Batista will not play in the UCV Olympic Stadium in Caracas on this debut in front of their audience, as in almost all games of the past qualifiers, but in the renovated Monagas SC campus. What does the Monumental de Maturín Stadium look like?
Inaugurated on June 24, 2007, the Monumental de Maturín Stadium was intended to be one of the venues for certain matches in that year’s Copa América. Located in the city of Maturín, in the state of Monagas, it is the largest stadium in the Llanero Territory, with a capacity for 52,769 spectators.
It has large stands that allow better visibility of the game and are ideal for television broadcasts. In addition, it has a significant number of media seats: 32 seats for radio, 10 television booths and 504 seats for journalists.
“It is a stadium that suits the conditions, they have invested good money there recently, we have become stronger there, the team has good energy, they have not missed a game in Maturín and the stadium is in optimal condition,” said Jorge Giménez, President of the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF).

Jorge Giménez also confirmed in a Las Noticias Express podcast that it is not ruled out that the Venezuelan team will use stadiums other than the Monumental de Maturín as part of the 2026 South America qualifiers.
“Maturín will be our first home for Vinotinto. Other venues such as Barquisimeto and Mérida are being considered, but in the first game we will now play against Paraguay in Maturín,” the league leaders added.
