“I read this book in three days, taking breaks so I wouldn’t finish reading too quickly. Once again, I’m playing a member of “the little scumbag” – a “bossboy” who calls himself “the manager” – but that’s not to be taken lightly, because for them it’s serious. »

In the film, directed by Francis Leclerc, Maxime de Cotret plays rising star Henri Picard.

The latter embodies Stéphane, the main character of this story of a 19-year-old young man who finds a job washing dishes in a restaurant to pay off his gambling debts.

According to Maxime de Cotret, Le Plongeur stays true to the novel, which includes many “rush” scenes in the kitchen.

“It’s a rolling fire of scenes in the kitchen,” says the actor, who will also be starring as Reginald on 5th Row next March.

“The story takes place mostly at night in wintry Montreal in the early 2000s, just like the book. »

Ana Kiri Superstar

We also find Maxime de Coret in the second feature film by director Francis Bordeleau (Wolfe). He takes on the role of Vincent, Ana’s (Catherine Brunet) brother.

“It’s about someone who’s secretly trying to die,” explains the actor we met on the set of this feature film between scenes. “He’s on the verge of self-destruct. The consequences do not interest him. »

With two friends (including Charlotte Aubin, who plays his unpredictable lover), Vincent and Ana form the central quartet who live on the fringes of society in this independent film that combines action, stunts, chases, explosions but also introspection. Ana Kiri Superstar hits theaters in 2024.
