Maxym Lavallée will try to find his place in the nest of champions

Quebec's Maxym Lavallée, a proud product of Laval University's Rouge et Or, will have another chance to earn a spot with the Montreal Alouettes next season, the team announced on Wednesday, he said.

As reigning Gray Cup champions, the Alouettes also signed offensive player Theo Grant and fullback Jacob Mason to agreements.

“The Canadian content of a team is critical in this league and these signings give us a lot of depth,” general manager Danny Maciocia recalled in a press release. Mason has a bit of experience with us, while Lavallée and Grant will have the chance to fight for a position in the next camp.

In Lavallée's case, he was selected in the eighth round by the Alouettes in the 2023 draft. The one who can play both as a defensive back and on special teams took part in the Sparrows' last training camp last year. He then played seven games for Rouge et Or in his fifth season with the team. In 2018, the Gatineau native was named the Quebec University Circuit's defensive rookie par excellence.
