His publisher in Quebec, Héliotrope, and that in France, Le Nouvel Attila, confirmed the news on social networks on Thursday morning.
This was the third time Lambert had been nominated for this award. His novels You’ll Love What You Killed and Querelle de Roberval were finalists and first picks, respectively.
“Let Our Joy Remain,” a novel about the excesses of the ruling class and gentrification in Montreal, has secured a top spot in France’s literary award nominations in recent months.
On October 31, the 31-year-old author became the youngest writer to win the December Prize in France. This award, known as the “Anti-Goncourt,” is worth 15,000 euros (almost 22,100 CAN dollars).
May our joy endure, was also included in the first selection of the prestigious Goncourt Prize, but was not selected for the second selection.
