Christian M’Billi thinks big. The 28-year-old boxer is still undefeated in 24 professional fights and says he is ready for big success in the super middleweight division.
While he waits for a world championship fight, the Eye of The Tiger Management protégé will face Demond Nicholson on September 8th in Gatineau.
A win against the American could allow M’Billi to secure a spot on the card for January 13 in Quebec. Before M’Billi thinks about winter, he must defeat Nicholson, a 32-fight veteran who has a record of 26-5-1 (22 KOs).
“He is a boxer with a very good physique, he boxes very well and has respectable strength. “He is an opponent I cannot underestimate,” analyzed Camille Estephan’s protégé.
Last March, M’Billi defeated Ecuador’s Carlos Gongora by unanimous decision. A fight that many consider to be the fight of the year. However, the Frenchman and Marc Ramsay believe there is room for improvement.
“We go back to the lab, to the gym, to see improvement. You can’t be on cruise control,” M’Billi’s coach said.
With an impeccable record and an aggressive style, M’Billi is turning heads as he is now the number 1 contender for the WBC crown, held by unified champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
“We must use the time we have left to move forward and the day we receive the long-awaited call we will be ready,” Ramsay concluded.
