MC Marcinho: Doca, Babu and Regina Casé talk about the love legacy left by the singer
To celebrate the legacy of MC Marcinho, who passed away this Saturday at the age of 45, Fantástico welcomes MC Doca, Babu and Regina Casé, who will talk about the artist’s influence on their lives and highlight the romantic trait he brings to the funk and music. Inspiration he exerts on the new generations.
Marcinho even publicly thanked Regina Casé for giving him space in her programs. He and Regina were very close.
“Actually, I think I met Marcinho at a dance, those dance caravans with Marlboro. How many people maju got married because of a marcinho song? How many people have broken up with a song and ended up crying? And how many people came back for a date, for a wedding with Marcinho’s songs? So, these children and these grandchildren, all the love and romance that he spread. It’s a huge legacy.”
Marcinho even mentioned Doca as an inspiration for him in several interviews. Doca talks about Marcinho’s contribution to funk. “For me, Marcinho was a very big reference in the world of funk. And we were really friends,” he says.
One of Marcinho’s first hits was “Garota nota 100”, rerecorded by Ludmilla for the soap opera Vai na fé. Babu was a teenager and liked Marcinho so much that he thought he was funk’s Roberto Carlos.
“To me he is king. I was speechless when I met Marcinho. And we started talking and exchanging ideas. He just got out of the hospital. And he came, he went to my house, we grilled, we exchanged ideas.” And right after that we started recording. Do you know what catches my attention about Marcinho? At a time when we wanted to dance and jump, he was talking about love. I think that’s what makes Marcinho stand out within the genre, isn’t it? Man? Always, he never left.
