The Russians have used for the first time in Ukraine a new powerful guided bomb weighing 1.5 tons, which, thanks to its 1,010 kg of explosives, is designed to hit highly protected targets at a distance of up to 40 km, reports the website Defense Express citing on anonymous sources.
This is the UPAB-1500B glide bomb, which was first shown in Russia in 2019. The device was deployed a few weeks ago in the Chernihiv region of northern Ukraine. What the goal was is not known. With a length of 5.05 meters and a diameter of 40 centimeters, the bomb can be dropped at a height of up to 15 km.

Two civilians died yesterday during the Russian attacks on Bakhmut, in eastern Ukraine: The head of the Donetsk military administration, Pavlo Kyrilenko, announced this via telegram, Ukrainian media reported. A total of four civilians have died in the city besieged by Russian forces since the beginning of the month. Also yesterday, seven residents of the region were injured, while 1,398 civilians have been killed and another 3,126 injured since the conflict began in Donetsk.
In yesterday’s attacks (11 in total) by Russian forces, one person died and three others were injured Kherson and the region of the same name, hit 78 times: the regional military administration announced this, Ukrainian media reported. “Nearly 360 shells from mortars, MLRS (Multiple Launch Missile Systems, ed.), artillery, tanks and drones were fired at peaceful settlements in the area,” the message said. Explosions were heard again this morning in Kherson, where an anti-aircraft alert was sounded.
In the meantime, the death toll in the Russian rocket attack, which was launched on the city of Zaporizhia on Wednesday night and hit a five-story apartment building, has risen to 13, according to the state rescue service on Facebook.
