Although the series “Mía es la venganza” with Lydia Bosch is one of the best bets on Telecinco afternoons, it will not be on Telecinco’s schedule for long. Mediaset España has confirmed to this newspaper that Alea Media’s fiction will stop recording “soon”. Following the success of Yo soy Bea, the station’s first daily afternoon fiction in more than a decade premiered on June 12 and had barely completed 100 episodes when preparation for new episodes was halted.
Mía es la venganza reached about 7% of the average screen share in the last few weeks, well below the chain’s monthly figure (over 10%) and the data of its predecessor Sálvame Limón, leaving it well below the offers of the competition.
Not even the repeats on weekend mornings or the absence of advertising during the broadcast brought new viewers to the premiere chapters, quite the opposite: in the fewer than 20 episodes that have been broadcast so far, the ratings have been falling.
The series was a headache for the communications group long before its premiere. Its creator, Aurora Guerra (“Scandal,” “The Obsession Story,” “Puente Viejo Mystery”) was removed from the project mid-production, as were several of its leads.
Therefore, Mía es la venganza will not be part of Telecinco’s afternoon bet for next season, along with the new evening show by Ana Rosa Quintana and the contests 25 Words moderated by Christian Gálvez and Reaction in Chain commanded by Ion Aramendi.
