The residents of Rue Saint-Louis in Rivière-du-Loup can rejoice. Piling work to build Medway Group’s property complex has reportedly now been completed.
According to our information, the last pile was removed on Friday morning around 11 a.m. This extremely noisy work was originally scheduled to be completed in March. The end of this phase has since been postponed several times for various reasons. It is not excluded that “one-off” work will be carried out to replace certain piles. However, this phase is now officially complete.
The recurring noise and vibrations caused by the piles were complained about by residents in the area at the start of the construction work, which began exactly a year ago to the day.
Once completed, the Rivière-du-Loup health complex will include 165 rental apartments as well as commercial space. It also has to take into account the new CLSC, but a company that wanted to win the contract recently took legal action against the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent.
