Arab countries are willing to participate in the stabilization of the Gaza Strip only if the Israeli war against Hamas ends and a political framework for the creation of a Palestinian state is defined.
This was the message that Antony Blinken, the American Secretary of State, heard and conveyed to Israeli leaders during his visit to Ramallah, Amman and alUla.
Aside from the current negotiations in The Hague, where South Africa, with the support of Brazil, is accusing Israel of genocide, the US Secretary of State and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah alSisi met in Cairo.
Portal reports that the visit came a day after AlSisi met King Abdullah of Jordan and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the Red Sea port of Aqaba. Blinken also met with Abbas in Ramallah in the West Bank.
Blinken, who visited nine countries and the West Bank in a week, delivered to Israel a preliminary agreement that its neighbors would help rebuild the Gaza Strip after the war and continue economic integration with Israel, but only if Israel committed to the creation to allow an independent Palestinian state.
Antony Blinken reiterated that “the United States supports concrete measures to create a Palestinian state.”
The US wants a “New Palestinian Authority” to govern Gaza. In return, Abbas wants a Palestinian state.
Blinken supports Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's moves to establish a Palestinian state, but it will not be easy for Washington to get Israel to make concessions and the issue could put him on a collision course with the Netanyahu government.
who is behind of Attacks in the Red Sea?
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has accused Iran of being behind a series of attacks in the Red Sea, where Houthi rebels have claimed several attacks on ships in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
“These attacks have been supported and encouraged by Iran in terms of technology, equipment, intelligence and information and are having a real impact on the population,” Antony Blinken told reporters in Bahrain as part of his regional diplomatic tour.
