Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Panamanian Secretary of State Janaina Tewaney in Washington DC today Secretary Blinken and Secretary Tewaney emphasized the importance of the longstanding partnership that binds Panama and the United States. The Secretary of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs also spoke of the remarkable achievements that Panama has made in its efforts to meet the aspirations of its citizens through democracy and social development. During the meeting, both discussed concrete measures to reduce the number of irregular migrants in the region and reaffirmed the centrality of the Los Angeles Declaration in coordinating efforts at the regional level.
