AtkinsRéalis (formerly SNC-Lavalin) will participate and share its expertise in the design of the world's largest modern city center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Quebec company was hired by the New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) to support the design of the New Murabba Project, a gigantic urban project in Saudi Arabia.
Specifically, AtkinsRéalis will “provide first-class consulting, architectural, masterplanning and engineering services to realize this revolutionary project, the cornerstone of the visionary reinvention of the Kingdom’s capital,” it said in a statement
However, the amount of this contract was not disclosed.
Located northwest of the city of Riyadh, this pharaonic cube is 400 meters high, 400 meters wide and 400 meters long. It will house apartments, hotel rooms, offices, but also a university, a cinema, a theater, a concert hall, shops and restaurants and many other community and leisure spaces.
“New Murabba is a visionary project and we are proud to leverage our global excellence and end-to-end capabilities, supported by digital expertise and sustainable holistic solutions, to realize this architectural and engineering marvel,” said Philip Hoare, president of engineering services at AtkinsRéalis.
According to the website dedicated to New Murabba, the project is expected to end in 2030.
