Meghan Markle told listeners on the latest episode of her Spotify podcast Archetypes that she was nervous about interviewing Paris Hilton because she had “judgment” about the socialite.
In the latest episode of the Duchess of Sussex’s podcast series, entitled ‘Breaking Down The Bimbo’, she faced the 41-year-old socialite as they discussed her rise to reality TV stardom in the ’90s.
Before the interview began, Markle, also 41, told her audience that she was concerned about the recording, saying, “I was most nervous about this one.”

Markle, 41, says she grew up thinking, “What could be wrong with her life?” because Hilton, also 41, was “beautiful, rich and famous”.

She explained: “Because although I’m embarrassed to admit it, I had judgment about Paris. And I don’t like it when judgments don’t feel good.
“But I had to be honest because growing up she was beautiful, rich and famous. What could be wrong with her life?’
Hilton replied that she’s also reluctant to have an audience with the Duchess of Sussex because I’m just such a shy person and we’ve never met.
In the candid episode, Markle discussed the labels “Bimbo” and “Dumb Blonde” and explored why “brains and beauty have historically been pitted against each other in a woman.”
In the podcast’s intro, Markle shared her own experience of being valued solely for her physical appearance when she starred as the “briefcase girl” on Deal or No Deal in 2006.
The Duchess of Sussex said she was grateful for the work as she tried to break into acting and “pay the bills” – “but not how I felt about it, which wasn’t smart”.
