Members of the FAE demonstrate in the ports of Montreal and Quebec | sector strikes in Quebec –

A few hours after rejecting the Quebec government's latest offer, members of the Autonomous Education Federation (FAE) took a drastic measure and blocked the entrances to the ports of Montreal and Quebec.

Members of the FAE block the entrance at the corner of Notre-Dame and De Boucherville streets in Montreal. Several trucks are lined up on Notre Dame Street because they cannot reach the port facilities. No trucks can leave the port. This sector is experiencing a significant slowdown in traffic both eastbound and westbound.

In an interview on ICI RDI, the FAE's vice president for political life, Patrick Bydal, explained that the only language that François Legault's government understands is that of money. The boat in which François Legault and the government are leading us is rocking. “It is time for François Legault to fulfill his responsibility as a concerned head of state and bring this boat into port,” said Mr. Bydal.

We rejected the agreement yesterday, negotiations are continuing, but at some point enough is enough! “It is time for François Legault to hear us,” Mr. Bydal added.

The FAE claims to block traffic in the Port of Montreal for as long as necessary.
