The world of automobiles is closely linked to the world of technology in many different ways. The increasing presence of automobile manufacturers serves as proof of this Consumer Electronics Trade Show (CES) in Las Vegas, a trade fair where companies can present new products or new technologies. In this sense, Mercedes Benz is present at this trade fair and is presenting some new technological features that will soon be used in the brand's vehicles.
Compose music while driving
To enable owners to use their vehicle as a musical instrument, Mercedes-AMG took advantage of its partnership with American Will. I. I will start MBUX SOUND DRIVE. According to the manufacturer, this technology will change the way we listen to music on the go. How does it work? Advanced software ensures that the music responds to the type of driving. The MBUX SOUND DRIVE system interprets various driving dynamics such as recuperation, acceleration, steering and braking and translates them into musical expressions. This allows you to compose music in real time while driving.
Artificial intelligence at the service of the driver
Mercedes-Benz had already demonstrated its interest in artificial intelligence by integrating ChatGPT into some of its vehicles. However, the manufacturer has decided to take the passenger experience to a new level with a new virtual assistant from MBUX that uses AI. This new system will enable natural and empathetic interaction, in addition to benefiting from four different emotions. The task of the virtual assistant MBUX is to respond to the needs of residents using generative artificial intelligence and proactive intelligence. So we are a long way from the first voice-controlled systems, which required a certain amount of patience to execute a single command via voice.
New partnerships
Mercedes-Benz is also using CES 2024 to announce some new partnerships that will enable the addition of new features onboard vehicles. First, Mercedes-Benz is announcing a partnership with Antstream Arcade, the world's first retro game streaming service that will integrate in-vehicle game storage. This allows passengers to use an in-car games service in the infotainment system.
Mercedes-Benz then announces a collaboration with Audible and Amazon Music to open a new chapter in in-car storytelling. The residents are therefore offered a high-quality storytelling and audio experience. This feature is offered via an over-the-air update and is only available in certain models. Without mentioning which ones, the manufacturer adds that this update will be offered from the 3rd quarter of 2024.
All of these elements are therefore part of new technological features that will see the light of day in certain Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG vehicles in 2024.
