Currently circulating on social media is a video showing the brutal murder of a defector from the Wagner mercenary group. RTL/ntv confirms the authenticity of the video. Jewgeny Nuzhi, as the man is called, claims to have been recruited by the Wagner group as a Russian prisoner. However, he surrendered and wanted to fight alongside Ukraine. In a prisoner exchange, however, he was reportedly returned to Russian hands and handed over to the Wagner group.
“A dog deserves the death of a dog”
The clip now shows the prisoner being killed: the man is hit in the head with a sledgehammer. After Nuzhi falls to the ground, another blow to Nuzhi’s head follows. “A dog deserves a dog’s death,” says the head of the Wagner mercenary troupe, Yevgeny Prigozhin. “Excellent direction, looks like it was filmed without interruption. I hope no animals were harmed during filming.”
The clip was released with the title “The Hammer of Revenge”. “Nuzhin betrayed his people, betrayed his comrades, betrayed deliberately.” He was not captured and he did not surrender, but he planned his escape. “Nuzhin is a traitor,” Prigozhin said.
