The actress Queta Lavat has died at the age of 94, as announced by the Mexican press this Monday 4th. Born in Mexico in February 1929, the artist was part of the cast of a number of successful soap operas and series. The list includes works such as the new version of “A usurpadora”, in which she played the character Grandma Piedade, and “Coração indomitável”, in which she played Lucrecia.

Queta Lavat was also involved in the “Rebelde” phenomenon as Angelita in some episodes. They are Rosalía from “The Intruder” and Graciela from “Chameleons”. In 2018, the artist received the Golden Ariel Award from the Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences.
The actress had children, grandchildren and even greatgrandchildren. On social media, fans mourned the artist and paid tribute to him. “A great loss, rest in peace,” wrote one user on X (Twitter). “Oh no… She reminded me of my grandmother, they were very similar,” lamented another profile on Instagram. “What bad news, an excellent actress and an even better person. Big hugs to the family,” wrote a third.
Actor Eduardo España paid tribute on social media: “It is with sadness that I learn of the departure of our beloved and great actress Queta Lavat, a talented, kind, smiling and generous woman. Every meeting with her on set, having a conversation.” Wherever she was, it was a joy. My condolences go out to her family.” Mexico’s Tourism Minister Miguel Torruco Marqués also mourned the loss: “My wife Gloria and I mourn the sensitive death of our beloved Queta Lavat, undoubtedly an extraordinary actress from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Our deepest condolences go out to your family and friends.”
On social media, Queta shared moments from her personal life and even taught her fans some recipes. “What do you think of a delicious “bean broth” to enjoy with the family this Friday? I share my recipe with you. I hope you like it,” he wrote in his last post on TikTok in March this year.
