The Miami-Dade County Public Transportation Service (DTPW) will have a special schedule for December 31 and January 1, and there will be some restrictions at downtown Miami stations for those attending the year-end event at Bayfront Park want.
According to local reports, Metrorail and Metromover will operate Green and Orange Line trains every half hour until 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 31, 2023, according to the DTPW statement.
On Monday, January 1, 2024, Metrorail and Metromover will follow the normal weekend schedule. On December 31st and January 1st, MetroBus operates a Sunday schedule.
“Partiers in downtown Miami on the evening of December 31st should be aware that the last northbound and southbound trains will depart the Government Center Station, 701 NW 1st Ct, Miami, at approximately 2:00 a.m “, they explain.
The document states that “it will not be possible to enter Metrorail stations after 2:00 a.m. You can only walk.”
Parking at Metrorail stations will be open until 3:00 a.m. Monday, January 1, 2024.
Public transportation in Miami on December 31st and January 1st
All offices in Miami-Dade County will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, including DTPW administrative offices, customer service offices, the Golden Passport office at the Stephen P. Clark Center, the contact center and lost items.
Special Transportation Services (STS) are not affected by this holiday in the county and are operating normally. STS customers can call the STS reservation number (305-871-1111) to book or cancel an STS trip.
Transit riders who want to access services online can purchase or reload an EASY card at the Transit Store or through the Go-Miami Dade app.
